Three Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy and Etcheberry Sports full-time junior golfers – Audrey Monssoh, Santiago Lopez and Jose Lopez – felt right at home as they posted two victories and a runner-up showing in the annual FCWT Mission Inn Challenge.

Monssoh, an 11th-grader from Paris, France, led the Gilchrist Academy charge to the top after posting birdies on the first two holes of her final round Sunday en route to a 2-over 74 and two-stroke victory over first-round leader Isabel Southard of Sharon, Mass. Monssoh's stellar second round in unseasonably windy and frigid conditions tied her for Low Round honors with GGGA teammate Mallory Viera and catapulted her to her first FCWT title.

The victory was Monssoh's third of the school year and second at Mission Inn Resort, which doubles as GGGA's flagship facility. Monssoh previously won the International Junior Golf Tour's Saddlebrook event last October and Hurricane Junior Golf Tour Mission Inn Junior Challenge in November.

Meanwhile, eighth-grader Santiago Lopez marched to his first victory as a GGGA/Montverde Academy student by leading his 13-15 age-group division in a wire-to-wire effort. The 14-year-old native of Veracruz, Mexico, led his division in pars (23) en route to a 5-over 149 (75-74) and 5-stroke victory over fellow GGGA eighth-grader Gustavo Romero (80-74).

While two of his final-round playing partners were sliding backwards on Sunday, Lopez carded a sizzling 74 that featured five approach shots to within five feet on the front nine of El Campeon. Lopez birdied two of the holes (Nos. 2-3) and notched another birdie on the par-5 No. 14 to tie Romero and GGGA teammate Emilio Maurer for Low Round honors.

Lopez's older brother Jose nearly made it a family sweep but Jose's for the Boys 16-18 title fell short by one stroke as he placed second to fellow 12th-grader Ben Murray of Canada. Lopez, who already has a Mexican Golf Federation Match Play Championship title to his name this year, shot 76-76 for the tournament and was a co-leader in pars with 22.

After a hard-luck bogey on the par-3 15th hole, Lopez bounced back with a strong birdie on the par-4 16th to maintain a 2-stroke deficit. With Murray posting bogey on the par-5 17th, Lopez had an excellent chance for a share of the lead and second straight birdie attempt but Lopez missed his 3-footer and walked away with his tournament-best 22nd par.

Gilchrist Academy 11th-grader Peter Valasek, who won the FCWT IMG Leadbetter event in his previous outing, earned the Low Round honors for his Sunday round of 73 and finished tied for third. Second-year GGGA player Jack Wang of China was one of the co-leaders in pars with 22.
