FPS & Etcheberry Sports Performance Announce Partnership Agreement
Club seeks to develop fully integrated strength and conditioning program
Orlando, FL, 29 November 2010- Florida Premier Soccer (FPS) has announced a partnership agreement with Etcheberry Sports Performance (ESP) in an attempt to integrate a sports performance component to the player development pathway within the club.
ESP will become the official sports performance partner as FPS aims to develop a fully integrated strength and conditioning program that is engrained throughout all levels of Lake County Soccer Club and the FPS/FCA Premier Team program.
“We are excited to partner with Etcheberry Sports Performance as we seek to create a two pronged approach to a sports performance program which will include an education / awareness component as well as a product delivered on the field,” said FPS General Manager Andrew Moir. “The introduction of sports performance programs for all players at FPS further displays our attention to the whole athlete and reinforces our mission of player development.”
During the first year of the partnership agreement, FPS and ESP will participate in a number of joint events aimed at all players in the club.
A Health Day will be held for parents, players and coaches where age appropriate topics will be presented on sports performance topics such as injury prevention, the benefits of youth strength and conditioning and what makes a “great” youth sports performance program.
FPS/FCA coaches will also participate in professional development seminars where they will be educated on ways to incorporate ESP programming into their in-season practice schedule. This will include effective warm up and conditioning practices as well as drills and exercises.
On the field, players will benefit from the partnership, as ESP will provide fitness testing for all teams. Each team will perform two sets of fitness testing per calendar year.
“Having ESP conduct fitness testing will serve as a benchmark for our coaches to better understand where players are physically and what corrective measures need to be taken,” said Moir. “We look forward to seeing an immediate benefit for all players in the FC America and Lake County Soccer Club programs.”
